PRODUCT DESIGN

A FREE intensive 6-month online course for a career in Product Design.

Product Design involves the process of imagining, creating, and iterating products that solve users’ problems.

Product designers focus on creating solutions that enhance and create better user experiences for the users.

Curriculum

There are no pre-requisites for this program. You will learn about product design, apply the lessons and make them real. Some of the things you will learn include:

Introduction to computers and the Internet
Getting started with Figma and AdobeXD
Principles of Design
UI Elements
Design Thinking
Designing for Usability and Accessibility

Animation and Prototyping
The concept of Replication
Responsive Design
Empathy Maps and Storyboarding
Advanced tips and tricks in Figma

Class
Schedule

Everyday, you will spend hours outside of mandatory live class studying, designing or building. While the schedule is flexible, you must invest about 20 hours a week including:

Live classes
Fireside chats with industry experts and mentors

Live Q&As with experienced developers
Monthly Sprint
Challenges Access to facilitators and mentors

Seamfix NextGen Academy is a fully funded scholarship program created to empower outstanding graduates across Africa with world-class tech skills.

For this first phase, we are prioritizing candidates who meet the following criteria:

Age: Between 18–35 years at the time of application.
Academic Background:First Class and strong Second Class Upper (2:1) graduates Fine & Applied Arts.
Digital Readiness: Basic computer literacy and familiarity with the internet. Shortlisted applicants will also complete a computer literacy test as part of the process.

Location: Applications are currently open to candidates from Nigeria, Uganda, Kenya, and Ivory Coast. Future cohorts will expand to include Ghana, South Africa, and Ethiopia.
Commitment: A genuine drive to build a career in technology and readiness to dedicate six months (starting September 2025) to the program.
Preparedness:Access to a laptop, reliable internet, and a quiet study environment.
